Every person’s story is unique. Your background, life experiences, personality, relationships, and challenges all play a role in shaping your counseling journey. Because of that, therapy at Finding Freedom Therapy is always personalized to your individual needs, goals, and pace.
Before we begin, you’ll complete intake paperwork and assessments that help me better understand your history, current experiences, and areas of concern. This gives us a starting point for building a therapy plan tailored specifically to you.
The first few sessions are focused on getting to know you and developing a clear understanding of your goals. During this stage, I also work to identify immediate needs and provide practical coping skills to help reduce distress and create stability before beginning deeper therapeutic work.
Once we’ve identified your goals, we’ll create a plan for how to move toward healing and growth. My primary therapeutic approach is EMDR therapy, a trauma-informed method that helps uncover and heal the deeper roots of present-day struggles.
Often, current challenges are connected to past experiences that have shaped how we view ourselves, others, and the world around us. EMDR helps process those experiences so your mind and body can respond to present situations with greater peace, flexibility, and resilience rather than remaining stuck in survival responses like fight, flight, or freeze.
Therapy is never one-size-fits-all. Some clients come for a short season of support, while others choose longer-term healing work. The pace and duration of therapy are always client-centered and guided by your unique goals and readiness.
As therapy goals are reached, we’ll focus on strengthening the tools, insight, and confidence you need to continue moving forward outside of counseling. My goal is not to create dependence on therapy, but to help you build lasting skills and emotional resilience so you feel equipped to navigate future challenges with confidence and support.
